A Million Kisses,
It’s already been a year since a magical and amazing nonprofit organization has begun helping many people reach their dreams. Emily Potter is the creator behind “The Million Kisses Foundation” which aims to assist people in their dreams of starting businesses and projects that will also help others. One way she does this is by implementing her music and other performers are happy to lend their time and talents for this special organization; it is a way to pay it forward. The one-year celebration occurred on September 23, 2010 and there was a fun-filled and festive party to celebrate the anniversary. Several performers along with Emily entertained us with their various musical styles, including Shaney McCoy, Alicia McGovern, Paul Boruff, Merissa Wilson, and Jen Hajj.
Two hundred and sixty dollars was raised during the evening and all proceeds from Emily’s newly released CD will benefit the MK Foundation. The tracks are a joy and inspiring to listen to. When asked if she had any favorite songs Emily mentioned the title song track #3 Million Kisses and track #10 Sing to Me. The latter is a story of three dreams coming true. To learn more check out the Million Kisses website at http://themillionkisses.org. At this time over 1,260 dollars has been raised and 4 scholarships have been awarded.
During the evening the question was asked what some of the dreams of the attendees were. They included: 1. Growing a garden 2. Eliminating greed, and turning tolerance into love. Dreams are possible and that is what MK is all about. By honing her craft as a singer/songwriter and performer Emily hopes to reach more people with her music. The goal is to increase awareness of the Foundation and make the dreams of many people come to fruition. From the looks of things it is definitely coming true.
