Happy hour action doesn’t always have to be in places in Little Italy or Downtown. Here is a list of some fun spots in UTC and La Jolla for great deals on quality food.
Truluck’s 4:30-7pm half off the lounge menu and drinks 7 days a week and all day Sunday. The best seats are at the fire pits outside or if you gander inside, the live music isn’t too loud. Not too many places make pisco sours due to the raw egg white but Truluck’s offers a tasty one. For lounge bites, the crab cake sliders and sweet potato fries are popular favorites. Be sure to try out one of the cupcakes for dessert for just $2.
There is free parking during happy hour at the Hyatt’s self parking lot. Just get it validated and don’t stay until the wee hours because the regular hourly rate may add up to be more than the $7 valet.
Roy’s offers their Alhoa specials from 4:30-6:30 with amazing $5 deals on lux items such as wagyu beef sliders with garlic sweet potato fries and lobster potsickers as well as on all of their specialty drinks. It is a much better deal than the $7 menu at the nearby La Jolla Strip Club offers. With easy lot parking, Roy’s offers some sweet deals.
Azul’s $7 menu from 4-7pm offers a variety of tasty dishes for half the cost. The meatloaf with mashed potatos will get you full for the night. For a lighter option, the chicken marsala flatbread is flavorful and delicious. The best seats are around the fire pit. If you can’t find street parking, there is a small $3 lot just one street over.
Whisknladle’s happy hour goes from 5-7pm with their $3.5 tapas menu items and $20 pitchers of sangria. The tapas offering changes all the time to keep it fun. The best seats are the banquettes with low tables unless you want to grab a seat at the bar to watch the game.
