It is a service to the community and represents personal dignity and the self-worth of each individual to create a peaceful and cooperative society.
The Children’s activities will begin at ten in the morning with “Peace” arts and crafts. Afterwards, there will be birthday cake decorating, fun drumming, a Circus McGurkis birthday party, mint planting, and finally at two in the afternoon there will be storytelling with Lynn Carol Henderson.
Other activities include, hands-on tree climbing, open workshops, solar cooking, food desserts and the Edible Peace Patch, a seed swap, an introduction to permaculture, organic edible landscaping, financial permaculture, and a plant walk. Many interesting topics will be presented in Shelters 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. A few of the topics will include the re-establishment of the Civilian Conservation Corps, the Nicaraguan project of community development, supporting the Everglades, awakening the dreamer, St. Pete Free Skool, Tampa Bay Time, the magic of honey bees, urban backyard chicken keeping, the transition towns, and much, much more.
While you are playing, creating, strolling, eating, or enjoying a workshop, you can also sway to the music of some wonderful local talents, which begins at 10:00 a.m. with jazzy Rebecca Zapen.
