In March of 2011, people in the area began missing the voice of news in the Tri-Cities, Steve Hawkins of WCYB TV. Nobody knew what happened; he just disappeared. He had been with the local television station for 35 years, the last 10 years as News Director. Public outcry on Facebook was impressive, and it was only a matter of time before a smart media outlet would realize this and capitalize on Steve Hawkins’ popularity and relationship with the public in the Tri-Cities.

This new show has already had some impressive guests during this first week: Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey, Glenn Beck, business consultant Alan Guinn, and a reality star from the show, “Coal.” This is in addition to local guests and topics of interest. The Friday format this week will include a “Kudos Friday” segment that allows people to give others in the community a pat on the back. The show replaces the Bill Bennett program that formerly filled this timeslot.
