‘Hawaii Five-0’ spoilers: Is Kono being replaced on the team?

by knot move

Hawaii Five-0 has returned to Channel 5 in Tempe with its second season, and there is one big question hanging over the series. What will happen to Kono? On Sunday, TV Guide reported a bit on Kono’s fate. With episode two, there will be a new addition to the team when Lauren German joins the cast, and a good part of the episode will deal with Kono, played by Grace Park, battling Internal Affairs to keep her job. Tom Sizemore will join the cast as the head of IA. Visit the links to check out the sneak peeks and photos for tonight’s episode. For previously released set photos, go here.

At the end of season one, Kono was arrested and suspected of stealing the money from the police headquarters. Now her future as a cop is in question. Grace Park said the following about what will happen Kono next:

“Kono is not even around them. She doesn’t even know that there’s another person. She doesn’t know anything. She suspects that she doesn’t belong with the team, and they’re all just trying to make her feel better. But eventually you have to go take care of your own business. That’s what she embarks on. When Lori comes in, Kono is already out of the picture. Kono has been dealing psychologically with the same situation that her cousin Chin Ho’s been [in], being scandalized. It’s almost worse, like a double hit in the same extended family. It’s extra embarrassing. Just before they can celebrate his clean record or his being brought back, it’s kind of sullied again.”

Lauren German will join the team as Officer Lori Weston. She is added on by the LT. Governor, played by Richard T. Jones, after he finds out what lengths McGarrett goes to when he tries to take down Wo Fat. Letting go a criminal causes this new team member’s arrival. Neither side is too happy about the new arrangement as one of the new sneak peeks showed.

Is there room for both Kono and Lori on the team if Kono has her name cleared? Fans will have to wait to find out as the season progresses. One fan said the following on Twitter recently about the series:

good morning guys! who is excited for #HawaiiFive0 2×02???

Hawaii Five-0 will continue to air season two on Channel 5 in Tempe.
