Monday night, fans were anxious to see who would make the final four on Hell’s Kitchen (Channel 10 in Scottsdale). Last week the second episode threw a wrench into things when nobody went home, but that wasn’t about to happen again. Fans may think they know who will stay and who will go, but there is never a sure thing when it comes to Fox’s Hell’s Kitchen.
For this week’s challenge, Chef Ramsay presented everyone with a rare white salmon. They were told that the fish is very expensive, and they were challenged to make a profitable dish from it. Three guest judges arrived, and they each shared what they felt they would pay for the dish after tasting it. Most of the chef’s were relatively successful, except Elise. They didn’t think her dish looked good, and they thought her salmon and macaroni and cheese was a strange pairing. Paul won the challenge, and his reward was a helicopter ride with Chef Ramsay over Los Angeles. Paul was able to bring someone with him, and he picked Tommy, which was tough for Jennifer to watch.
The dinner service was brutal. Jennifer and Tommy struggled with communication, which impacted the appetizer round being delivered. Next, Elise messed up the salmon. Chef Ramsay and Paul both tried to get her to understand the proper way to cook the salmon, skin down, but she messed up time and again. Once she cooked it skin-side down, she then delivered raw salmon. As would be expected, Chef Ramsay ultimately went on a rampage and sent everyone out of the kitchen.
After a bit, Ramsay sent for Will and Paul, and had them work with him to complete the dinner service. The three did a great job, while the other three chefs sat up in the dorm, waiting to be beckoned. Ramsay told the group to pick two chefs for elimination, and Tommy questioned Chef Ramsay about his being sent away. Of course Ramsay didn’t like being challenged, and the two went at it with some verbal sparring for a bit.
In the dorm, Elise begged Paul and Will to keep her over Jennifer. Back in front of Chef Ramsay, Jennifer and Elise were up for elimination. Ramsay asked each remaining chef who they thought was the better of the two up for elimination. Paul and Will stuck up for Elise, while Tommy said Jennifer was better. They both pled their cases, and Ramsay seemed torn. Ultimately, he told Jennifer to take off her jacket.
Were you surprised by Chef Ramsay’s decision? Do you think Elise should have gone home? Next week is the two-hour Hell’s Kitchen finale, and one chef will be crowned the winner. Tune in to Fox, Channel 10 in Scottsdale, to see which of the final four wins this season of Hell’s Kitchen.
