Herbal Tea can be used to help keep you healthy and improve your health. There are many herbal teas, and they are good for you in many ways. An herbal tea can help supply your body with vitamins and minerals it needs to function properly, to fight disease, infections, headaches, stomach issues, relax and improve sleep. Herbal teas are generally safe for children to drink. They are a big part of Holistic Healing, and should never be over looked, forgotten or under estimated.
Making your tea so you get the full health benefits is very important. If using tea prepackaged from the store use 1 tea bag per cup and allow to steep in hot water for 20 minutes covered. Remove tea and drink. If using loose herbal tea use approximately 1 to 3 TBS per cup of hot water. You can use more if you like it strong but no less. Allow to steep, covered for 20 minutes.
Deciding what to use is very important. I prefer loose tea and a tea ball or a muslin bag to hold my tea. Others prefer pre-packaged tea bags. You can also buy empty tea bags and fill them yourself. There are so many options to drink in an Herbal Tea. Peppermint, Spearmint, Cinnamon, Rose Hips, orange, Ginger, just to name a few. To get a good tea thats high quality make sure your buying from a reliable source. Locally grown, or a local store with a good reputation is best.

I will give you a few options I use often when and have always loved.
Cinnamon is great for times when blood pressure is elevated. It can help a headache as well.
Chamomile is relaxing. It can help relax your aching body, stress and anxiety and help you sleep well. It is great for kids. It also helps ease stomach pains, ease gas pains and improve appetite.
Peppermint and chamomile mix is awesome to drink before bed for adults and children. It will relax and help one drift off to sleep.
Catnip can be used as a tea. It is great for frazzled nerves and anxiety. It can help ease Menstrual pain, and help with a good night sleep. It can be soothing for children as well. Use 2-4 teaspoons per cup of hot water.
Dandelion tea is an excellent cleansing tea.It is good for respiratory infections.
Garlic tea may not be a taste you like but it is very good for you. In studies it has been shown that it’s antibiotic properties are stronger than some of the most used antibiotics used by physicians. It is used in many countries as an antibiotic. If your feeling under the wether, a cold coming on, or illness sipping a cup of garlic tea may help. Make it with lemon and sweeten with honey.
To sweeten your tea there are many options. Honey, Agave, Stevia, and Maple are all good options. Sugar is not good for you and should only be used if nothing else is available.
