There are many different elements that can make for a memorable Halloween for your family. Whether you are old or young, there are special ways to make the occasion, well, “spooktacular.” While some have abandoned the tradition, you can still find it alive in many South Carolina neighborhoods like Creekmoor subdivision in Orangeburg, SC. Here are some ideas to make your Halloween great.
It will soon be that special time of year when Halloween will be here and your neighborhood will be host to possibly hundreds of little princesses, Spidermen, Batmen and more. One way to insure that every one has a safe and fun Halloween experience is to have a Halloween party that will be fun for young and old alike. Part of the fun can be in the creativity used to come up with a party that will serve up plenty of tasty food, and fun activities. Planning a party ahead of time is the best way to insure that no “gravestone” is left unturned. For great Halloween party tips see:

Decorating your home for Halloween
Many may not think it is necessary to decorate for Halloween but many of us already decorate for Autumn, and incorporating a little spooky charm into the mix is easy to do.
The universal rule during Halloween is, if you are decorating your yard for Halloween, you are passing out candy. If you don’t intend on passing out candy, leave the Halloween decor out of your Autumn design scheme. Disappointing a ton of neighborhood children in a single night could result in the scene from the Original Frankenstein movie, with villagers giving chase with torches in hand. Here are a few fun ways to decorate your home and yard this Halloween. Read more here: Decorating your home for Halloween.
Great Halloween treats
Healthy Pumpkin Cheesecake
The low carb options for those of us living in South Carolina are few and far between. Coming up with recipes that offer the flavor of southern cooking that is healthy is a challenge. This is a wonderful low carb dessert. It is healthy, not really southern, but has the decadent flavors South Carolinians have grown to love. It can be made with or without a crust and is perfect to serve at Thanksgiving but anytime is a good time for Cheesecake, especially a healthier version. This recipe is ideal for an indoor Halloween party, get it here: Low carb Pumpkin cheesecake.
Double chocolate Earthquake Cake
Earthquake cake is one of those awesome delicious cakes that have a wonderful oozy cream filled center. If you have ever wondered how to get this effect inside the cake this is the recipe for you. Great things can be done with the filling as well.
The filling, can be given food coloring to create a different effect depending on what you are after. For a Halloween party, I’d suggest tinting the coconut green, as when the cake is inverted, it can be made to look like a graveyard. I have also used food coloring on the cream filling with red food coloring to create an oozy red filling. Get the recipe here: Double chocolate Earthquake Cake.
