Against all odds, the Occupiers have repulsed Philadelphia’s patrols from the pillars of City Hall to University of Pennsylvania’s gleaming ivory towers, where the protestors boldly won their greatest triumph against whatever it was they thought it would be a pretty neat idea to fight on that particular day.
October 21st, 2011 – a date that will live in infamy.
Upon bravely conquering the Wharton School’s Huntsman Hall that fateful Friday, “Hugs for everyone!” the swarm declared a little after 4PM eastern standard time.
And in case the patrons of the adjacent Au Bon Pain couldn’t see from their glassy-eyed stares that the demonstrators meant business, the Occupiers went on to affirm, “Turn and hug someone next to you!”
Whether the people’s revolution had suddenly been co-opted by strawberry shortcake and rainbow bright, or the local Occupy leadership had been overtaken by a diabolical cabal of socialist care bears, the nation realized it would soon be in need of some Hump Day Humor.
So it’s time to play where’s waldo with comedy on the AM dial and take a look at some of the recent lighter, brighter moments on conservative talk radio.
This Wednesday edition of Hump Day Humor includes Philly radio hosts Dom Giordano & Chris Christie, as well as Dennis Miller, Mark Steyn, and DC’s Morning Majority – a small sampling of quips, non sequiturs, sarcastic commentary, and anything else that might warm your heart.
Dennis Miller Show 10/26/11
Retelling Hollywood joke
I joined AA when I first moved to LA. I don’t even drink, I just needed stage time.
Dennis Miller Show 10/25/11
On the death of Libyan dictator Muammar Qaddafi
Dennis: You know why they had to make it an unmarked grave? Nobody knew how to spell the last name on the headstone. They wanted to do a headstone marker – but just guys out there with chisels sitting out there for days in the hot sun saying, Q? K? Kh? What?
Dennis Miller Show 10/25/11
Discussing Barack Obama’s use of unmanned drone to kill Anwar al-Awlaki with San Francisco Chronicle reporter Debra Saunders
Dennis: Bush and Cheney were backed into a corner. They could have never killed a dangerous American from the sky without a trial. I like the fact that the whole country is unified now. The right always was and now the left has to be blood thirsty. Isn’t it a good thing that [Obama] is a killing machine…Obama got the Nobel Peace Prize. If they tried to take it back he’d vaporize Oslo. It’s beautiful.
The Morning Majority 10/24/11
Mary Katharine Ham discussing the vice president with the radio program’s legal expert Joe diGenova
Joe diGenova: We all know that vice presidents historically have been the cutting edge for a President. They do the dumb and stupid things the president is not supposed to be seen saying.
Mary Katharine: So Biden is actually an overachiever.
Dom Giordano Show 10/20/11
Chris Christie: There is an issue that just came up in the last two days Dom, where a Superior [Court] Judge in New Jersey invalidated our pension and benefit reform just for judges.
Dom: That’s Jersey.
Rush Limbaugh Show 10/19/11
With guest host Mark Steyn broadcasting from New Hampshire
Steyn: The revolution is spreading. I drove through the demonstrations on my way here at Occupy Dead Moose Lake, and Occupy Deer Tick Notch. And I was impressed how this unstoppable movement just started on one tiny little block on Wall Street and it’s just rolling across the country. So even here in New Hampshire we’re being occupied. They’re calling on tariffs on imported plaid.
