From November 17-20, 2011, the inaugural Flavor! Napa Valley festival will be showcasing the best this area, widely regarded as America’s premier wine and food capital, can offer. The event will be a four-day culinary, exploration of tastings, cooking demonstrations, winemaker dinners, and more. There will be a series of events through out Napa Valley including the Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) at Greystone in St. Helena and other Napa Valley legendary locations.
Events will feature wine experts as: Fred Dame (President of the Court of Master Sommeliers), Ray Isle (Executive Wine Editor of Food & Wine Magazine), Karen MacNeil (Chair of the Rudd Center for Professional Wine Studies at the CIA) and Andrea Robinson (Master Sommelier and author of Great Wines Made Simple).
Culinary events will feature renowned Napa Valley and CIA alumni chefs, including: Stephen Barber (Fish Story), Michael Chiarello (Bottega), Scott Conant (Scarpetta Restaurant, NY), Robert Curry (Auberge du Soleil), Tyler Florence (Rotisserie & Wine), Ken Frank (La Toque), Todd Humphries (Kitchen Door), Jeffrey Jake (Silverado Resort and Spa), Thomas Keller (The French Laundry), Christopher Kostow (The Restaurant at the Meadowood), Aaron London (Ubuntu), Masaharu Morimoto (Morimoto Napa), Cindy Pawlcyn (Go Fish, Mustards and Cindy’s Back Street Kitchen) and Brandon Sharp (Solbar at Solage) among others.
No single event will represent all that Napa Valley has to offer as the “The Appellation Trail: Tasting Napa Valley.” The event will take place on November 18, 2011 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will be held at the beautiful grounds of the CIA at Greystone in St. Helena. Guests will be able to stroll through the Appellation Trail and taste from over 120 wineries including Beringer Vineyards, Cakebread Cellars, Chiarello Family Vineyards, Crocker & Starr Wines, Etude, Grgich Hills Estate, The Hess Collection Winery, Michael Mondavi Family Estate, Mumm Napa Valley, Robert Mondavi Winery, St. Clement, St. Supéry Estate Vineyards, Silver Oak Cellars, Staglin Family Vineyard, Stags’ Leap Winery, and William Hill Estate among others.
Over thirty of Napa Valley’s best restaurants and artisanal food purveyors like Ad Hoc, La Toque, Morimoto Napa, and The Restaurant at Meadowood will be side by side to the wineries offering the attendees food savories.
In addition, Tyler Florence (who recently opened Rotisserie & Wine in Napa) and Richard Blais (winner of Bravo’s “Top Chef All-Stars”) will be featured chefs at the “Live Fire” area, where guests can gather around a live fire grill to watch and enjoy tastes in the adjacent Infiniti Lounge area.
This trail of flavorful adventure will be an experience that can only occur in the Napa Valley.
