We’ve all seen the craze “planking” where people are lying face down, straight as a board having their picture taken in this “pose” at various locations. Some people consider it a physical challenge, because, well it can be physically challenging.
But a new challenge is trumping planking and it’s called “Tebowing.”
Tim Tebow, the NFL quaterback for the Denver Broncos is now a verb. People are using the term “Tebowing” and it’s an internet sensation. There is even a website devoted to it: tebowing.com.
According to the site, to “Tebow” is to get down on a knee and start praying, even if everyone else around you is doing something completely different.”
Tebowing.com now has seven pages of Tebowing pictures and continues to add more.
The creator of Tebowing.com, Jared Kleinstein, was interviewed by the Wall Street Journal. He’s a Denver native who works for a real-estate website and popularized the concept of Tebowing.
He was watching the Broncos game with friends when Tebow led an astonishing fourth-quarter comeback. He tells the WSJ, “Everybody was jumping up and down, and we noticed Tebow Tebowing,” he said. When he left the bar, Kleinstein convinced his friends to photograph themselves posing like Tebow, and he posted the picture on Facebook. He bought the domain name Tebowing.com. And the rest is history.
Kleinstein says, Tebowing is safer than planking, there have been no injuries yet. So give it a try, it could be could for your health!
