A Home Energy Makeover (HEM) Expo, a special feature of the annual show will be presented by the U.S. Green Building Council, North Florida Chapter (USGBCNF) and JEA.
“Displays, workshops and experts will show how building science and technology can reduce energy consumption at home and save money as it applies to remodeling or new home construction,” said Wally Conway, president of HomePro and chairman of the Residential Green Building Committee of the USGBCNF. “
Visitors to the Expo will be eligible to win a GE Hybrid Water Heater, a GE Energy Star dishwasher and other prizes when they complete the GE Expo Passport. Two homeowners will also win a Home

All seminars and performances are included in the price of your admission ticket.There will be celebrities and experts presenting, including Yigit Pura of BRAVO’s Top Chef: Just Desserts who will be appearing Friday, Saturday & Sunday on the Publix Apron’s Cooking Stage. On all four days, the Publix Apron’s Cooking Stage is full of presentations and samples you won’t want to miss! Food is available by SAVOR…Jacksonville, the exclusive caterer and food service provider for three of Jacksonville’s venues including, The Prime Osborn Convention Center. There will be a variety of items – from hot meals to light bites, as well as many beverage choices including beer and wine, available for purchase. You may also enjoy beverages throughout the show.Special events include the WQIK 99.1 Rib Cook Off with M&R Smokers and Geiger Meats. The fun begins on Saturday, October 1 at 4pm in the Courtyard as three contestants prepare their tasty pork rib recipes. They will be judged by a celebrity chef and the winner will take home an awesome grill and rib package valued at over $700!Tickets for the show can be purchased online or at the door. The Prime Osborn Convention Center and the surrounding private lots have parking available for a cash fee of $7.
Theatre Jacksonville is hosting a food drive for the Clara White Mission as part of its promotion for the upcoming show Welfarewell. Show guests are invited to bring non-perishable food items to help the Clara White Mission stock the shelves for the holiday season. Guests should drop off their items at the Theatre Jacksonville booth, located in the entrance, just before concessions.Everyone participating in the food drive is automatically entered for a chance to win Theatre Jacksonville season and show tickets.
