Are we ready to see ghosts, vampires, witches, and monsters or celebrate Halloween? Ready or not October is here the Spooktacular month of the year, bringing excitement to the hearts of many. Some organizations are excited too but for different reasons. This month organizations like the Bergen Volunteers, United Way of Northern NJ, Mentoring American Asian Professionals and the Holistic Mentorship Network have their calendars marked for personal development and mentoring events. The events are outlined below.

To add, the United Way of Northern New Jersey, Morris County United Way is hosting free Mentoring classes for individuals interested in becoming a mentor. This training class consists of four sessions on October 4th, 6th, 22nd, 13th, can be applied to professional or personal situations where one might mentor another person. The event will take place at 222 Ridgedale Avenue, Cedar Knolls, New Jersey, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00pm to 9:00 pm. Contact Shaunna Rubin at 973.993.1160 extension 142. Furthermore, the organization is also conducting free financial literacy classes. It’s an 8-week series starting October 6th, to teach individuals and families how to prepare for their financial future. It’s open to all ages with classes for: Ages 4-10, ages 11-18, and adults. The OCAMentoring American Asian Professionalsprogram “will cultivate the next generation of Asian American professional leaders through mentoring, skills building, and networking. The program pairs Asian American professionals with experienced leaders in their field. MAAP is a three month program with four 1:1 mentoring meetings and two mentoring network sessions.”The MAAP-New Jersey event will take place on October 1, 2011
