Texas singer/songwriter Josh Fuller and his band “Dirt and Diesel”honor our Texas Firefighter heroes and the teams behind them. Each year, Josh Fuller and his band “Dirt and Diesel”host a music festival to benefit local charity or cause. This year, the most urgent and devastating threat is wildfires running rampant throughout our state, threatening to destroy the beauty of our Texas landscape, Texas lives, homes, crops businesses.
The cause for Josh and “Dirt and Diesel” is one to help boost the moral and support for our Texas firefighters and their support teams with the help of fellow musicians and the communities who depend on this wall of brave men, women and volunteer firefighters and their support teams. The only force standing between our communities is the firefighters and volunteers desperately working around the clock to stop these monster wildfires.
For this reason, the cause for these firefighters is clear to Texas singer/songwriter Josh Fuller and his band “Dirt and Diesel” Honoring the Texas heroes by bringing together dedicated musicians and the Texas community to help their neighbors in their time of need through awareness, interaction, and donations of time, talent, and money through “DIRTFEST 2011.” Live music will be the common theme, with several acoustic song swaps, as well as full band performances. Rock, blues, and Texas Music will be a constant during the day.
One of the current rashes of wildfires is the largest to date, growing in size and heading north, wiping out everything in its path! What better cause this year than that focusing on and honoring our Texas Firefighters, especially those heroically battling our Texas wildfires running rampant through our beautiful state. The most recent wildfire was born in Magnolia, Montgomery County, Texas, but is now under control with a few closely watched by firefighters “hotspots.” Invitations have been extended to all Texas Fire Departments to represent their communities, send a truck, and accept the honor and appreciation of all Texans who know them to be true Texas heroes.
There is no monetary reimbursement for the musicians – they dedicate their all to the cause. Josh Fuller says of “DIRTFEST 2011,” “This year I am pleased to announce that DIRTFEST 2011 will be held on September 10th, and be in honor of all the firefighters and their teams who have worked extremely hard, especially with the record heat and excessive wildfires.” Josh explains, “I, nor my band nor any performing band at “DIRTFEST 2011” will make a profit from any donations received. The more money we raise, the more amenities we can offer at the event, and all excess money will go directly to Fire department funding various departments for supplies, equipment, and training.
And, you can be sure, as every year, the community involvement will be bigger than ever before, given the destruction of these Texas wildfires and the intense appreciation for the men who risk their lives, to stop this fast-moving devastation.
Our Texas communities, fans and friends, please come out, enjoy great Texas Music, food and brew, but most of all, to meet, greet and appreciate these brave firefighters from several Fire Departments, coming with their trucks and uniforms to interact with the crowd, especially the youth, and have them take a bow as we give them the thanks that they need and deserve. Also we will have a clothing/food drive to aid the victims of the fires in Grimes County who lost everything.
A SPECIAL NOTE: Please help provide funding for helping stop Texas Wildfires through the benefits given to all our firefighters, the support personnel from EMT’s all the way down to dispatch operators. These brave heroes have used a level of teamwork that is almost impossible to comprehend. Please join us in a celebration of hometown heroism and also help us pass the boot to insure the departments can replace the supplies, resources and equipment that have been depleted in this overactive fire season. The sacrifices that they, and their families, have made, so that our lives and property can be safe, should be recognized in true Texas fashion. Let us give these folks the Hero Party that they deserve!”
Help them save our Texas beauty. Please be a part of this much needed cause and event…Josh Fuller’s and “Dirt and Diesel’s” “DIRTFEST 2011 – A Hero Party and Benefit for Firefighters”!
