No writing experience needed; just prepare to be present and enjoy!
Capturing moments of deep feeling that make you feel alive and whole—moments that make you aware of holiness—is a way to relate to the Creative Spirit through the “now” of this moment, just as it is. A haiku—a short, evocative poem with roots in ancient Japanese poetic tradition—expresses the heart of a moment in a few brief lines. Using images and senses, a haiku brings feeling to life.
Join retreat leader Margaret D. McGee, M.A., on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Stillpoint at Beckside Spiritual Retreat Center in Bellingham, WA from 9:00am-3:00pm for a day of mindfulness, contemplation, and expression. Using simple guided exercises, this retreat introduces participants to a unique and creative spiritual practice. Participants will find inspiration in the day and place itself. Activities include a labyrinth walk facilitated by Myra Smith, labyrinth artist and owner of Laughing Flower Labyrinth & Landscape Company. No labyrinth walking or poetry writing experience is needed to have fun on this day!
