The African American community of Atlanta will be very happy to learn that Leila Lopes, Miss Angola has stylishly and intelligently won the Miss Universe Pageant!
Congratulations are in order to Miss Angola, Leila Lopes, who spoke perfect Portuguese to answer her final question which won her the Miss Universe Pageant!
The question: If there was one thing you could change about yourself, what would it be?
Lopes’s answer was that she wouldn’t change a single thing at all about herself! She also stated that she was grateful for the principles that her family instilled in her. But she had one piece of advice for young women: respect each other!
From that moment on, it was evident that Leila Lopes, who is currently getting her Bachelor’s in Business, aims to get an MBA and be a successful businesswoman.
The gown which she chose wasn’t bad either, as it sparkled in subdued tones and showed off her slim, young figure to perfection!
Among the five finalists, first runner up, Olesya Stefanko, Miss Ukraine’s answer about the one person she would trade lives with was also answered very intelligently as she said she would choose to be Cleopatra because she was strong, powerful and very worthy of respect. Stefanko’s white goddess gown with the gold touches was a great choice and was worn well by her as well!
As far as dress choices go, second runner up, Priscila Machado, Miss Brazil’s saffron colored gown was an absolute feast for the eyes and as far as her looks went, she suited the dress extremely well, with her Mediterranean looks.
Miss Philippines, Shamcey Supsup, who was third runner up, gave a rather odd answer about not marrying for love, because their was only one man she truly loved and that was God! Unfortunately, her holy fervor did not win her the coveted title.
Fourth runner up, Miss China, Luo Zilin, wore a lovely red gown, reminiscent of the Red Chinese and in China, red is a much celebrated color. Her question was about the appropriateness of nude beaches – which would’ve embarrassed anyone but Zilin finessed the answer by saying that it’s all about local rules and regulations allowing it and about local customs and lifestyles. Well answered but not enough to win her the Miss Universe Pageant!
Congratulations to Miss Angola, Leila Lopes, and hopefully she will use her title and new-found celebrity as well as her graciousness and intelligence to help her own country and its people.
