Actress Lindsay Lohan, who recently posed nude for “Playboy” magazine, stays in shape with rigorous spinning workouts.
“I’ve gone through enough in my life that I appreciate getting up at 7 or 8 in the morning and going spinning,” Lohan tells Extra. “I like that kind of routine.”
Lindsay, whose Playboy spread will appear in an upcoming issue, admits the high-intensity cardio workout is tough but effective.
“It’s exhausting,” says Lohan, 25. Lindsay, who has struggled with drug abuse and legal woes for the past four years, spent the summer flying to New York, Paris and Milan for fashion week.
“I think anything having to do with fashion inspires me. I think that you get used to it, [but] I got home and I slept for like a full weekend straight, from like Friday to Monday.”
Lindsay, who recently tried to quit smoking, has been in and out of jail and court due to her drug-related legal problems. (Lohan has since started smoking again).
On July 6, 2010, Lindsay was sentenced to 90 days in jail for parole violations stemming from her 2007 drunk-driving arrest.
When Lohan was released from rehab in August, she was warned that she would be subject to random drug testing twice a week and that a dirty test would result in a one-month jail sentence.
On Sept. 18, 2010, Lindsay confessed via Twitter that she failed a drug test, and was sent back to rehab, where she will stay until the beginning of the new year.
“I tried to mask my problems with alcohol, cocaine and mind-altering substances,” Lindsay revealed in 2009. ”I went to rehab three times. The first time I checked myself in because I had taken Ambien. It’s a sleeping aid but it makes you hallucinate.”
Lohan has been on probation since August 2007 after pleading guilty to misdemeanor drug charges and no contest to three driving charges.
While many question whether Lindsay’s decision to pose nude for Playboy could harm her already-flagging acting career, it bears noting that she previously posed nude for New York magazine in 2008. Lohan also appeared nude in the 2010 flick Machete.
Ironically, Lohan swore in 2005 that she would “never” do a nude scene. “You will never see me in a nude scene,” she said. “Then there’s no mystery for my private life.
“I think there’s a way to for those kinds of things to be tastefully done and you don’t need to show that. I don’t think that’s what needed to win an Oscar for me. Personally I think there’s other things you can do to show people that you have talent.”
