News: HiDef television event from London to local movie screens;
The groundbreaking series National Theatre Live brings the best of British theatre, direct from the stage to movie theaters around the world. The season launches with the hit comedy One Man, Two Guvnors on Thursday, October 20 and then continues with three more performances; The Kitchen on Thursday, November 3; Collaborators on Thursday, December 1, and The Comedy of Errors on Thursday, March 1. Additional events will be added throughout the season.
From the heart of London, each performance will be captured live in high-definition and broadcast on a delayed basis via satellite, giving audiences an extraordinary close-up view of the world-class productions that take center stage at the National Theatre of Great Britain.
These National Theatre Live presentations will take place in movie theaters at 7 PM local time:
- Thursday, October 20th – “One Man, Two Guvnors” by Richard Bean – a 5 star smash-hit comedy
- Thursday, November 3rd – “The Kitchen” by Arnold Wesker – a fast furious look at a 1950s restaurant kitchen
- Thursday, December 1st – “Collaborators” a new play by John Hodge – from the writer of ‘Trainspotting’ a darkly funny new play
- Thursday, March 1st – “The Comedy of Errors” by William Shakespeare – a Shakespeare classic with UK comedian Lenny Henry
