Marie Louise Bistro is unlike regular coffee shops and restaurants. Their focus is on French, Italian and Mediterranean cuisines. Therefore, they offer not only delicious mouth watering menu items but also unique French pastries that are hard to find around the Baltimore area.
They divided the area into two different sections, mainly one for dessert and coffee and another for lunch/dinner. It has a casual atmosphere yet there is a high-end feel to the place due to the high ceilings, two floor seating areas and a very French chic décor. They also offer catering for special events, that menu can be found here.
Their lunch/dinner menu includes hors d’Oeuvres, a large variety of soups, salads, and sandwiches and specialty menu items such as the Bouillabaisse which is a dish that includes Clams, Mussels, Shrimp & Fruits de Mer in a Tomato broth with Saffron, Fennel & a splash of Pernod for $18.95.
Their brunch menu consists of all different kinds of eggs including Scrambled Eggs, Omelets, Eggs Benedict, etc. while also offering sandwiches, salads and soups. One of their specialties is the Champignons, Chanterelles, Criminis & Oyster Mushrooms Omelet with Herbs & Gruyere for $12.95.
In addition to the above, they have the most exquisite pastries and tarts such as the Pear Tart that literally bursts in your mouth – make sure you have them warm it up though! Another great dessert is the Chocolate Crème Brûléethat’s like an original Crème Brûléeexcept instead of the sugar that is torched and coated on top, this is topped with dark chocolate. Their coffee menu is pretty standard with the regular cappuccinos and lattes, although they taste much better than the same items I have tasted at other coffee shops around the area.
They have daily specials which can be found here. These include Martini Mondays where all martinis are $6.00, Thursday Wine & Cheese Tastings, and Happy Hour which is Sunday – Friday from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm but only available in the lounge upstairs. They’re open Sunday through Thursday8 am till 10 pm and Friday & Saturday 8 am till 11 pm.
Marie Louise Bistro is a great place to hang out with friends, catch up with old classmates, go on a casual date or simply relax, sip some good coffee while eating delicious pastries and reading a book on a lazy afternoon. For more information, visit their website by clicking here.
