It has been almost two weeks since Mark Bosworth, 54, from Portland, Oregon disappeared while volunteering for Cycle Oregon. Read more here.
He was part of a seven-day bicycle tour in Oregon when he went missing leaving his wallet, credit cards, bike and clothing behind.
According to the Associated Press, the family believes he is still alive and think that the lymphoma that Mark had been fighting, may have spread to his brain causing him symptoms of dementia. Mark just may not know where he is. Even Mark’s doctors believe that a medical episode may be behind his disappearance and the uncharacteristic behavior he was showing shortly before he went missing.
There was a tip that a man was spotted hitchhiking outside the town of Riddle on September 17. Julie, Mark’s wife, is wondering if Mark was trying to hitch a ride back to New York City where they used to live 10 years ago.
This seems very plausible, and I hope that everyone will share Mark’s story and keep an eye out for him.
If you do see Mark, please call the local police or 911.
Mark is 6 feet tall, 180 pounds with gray hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a gray hood sweatshirt, black bicycle pants and a hat.
