September 30, 2011- Back in 1995, PR*Bar was one of the things that fueled Mark Allen to his sixth Ironman World Championship. Now, just over a week before the Ironman in Kona, the company announced a partnership with defending Ironman women’s champion, Mirinda Carfrae.
PR*Bars issued a press release on Wednesday that announced their new partnership as the official performance nutrition bar of Carfrae. Mirinda, who is already in Hawaii getting ready for the October 8thevent, also tweeted about her new partnership with PR*Bar.
“I’m really honored to be working with PR Bar. They have been involved with the sport for so many years and supported events and athletes when I was just starting my junior career.” – Mirinda Carfrae
Teaming up with elite athletes isn’t a new thing for PR*Bar. Aside from the new relationship with Carfrae, PR*Bar is the Official Performance Nutrition Bar of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Teams. A portion of the proceeds of the sales of the line of Team USA performance nutrition bars will support the training of U.S. Olympic and Paralympic athletes and hopefuls, and the agreement runs through June of 2017
Over the years, the brand dipped in popularity a little, but they have come back with some interesting product. Their “Fastburn” bars come in 6 flavors, ranging from double chocolate to apple pie, while granola bars come in 3 flavors; peanut butter, oatmeal raisin and peanut butter berry. Regardless of which bar is chosen, all of them are gluten-free.
As a provider to the US Olympic team, ingredients are important and PR*Bars are certified through the Informed Choice program to be free of any banned substances that would jeopardize an athlete’s standing.
