KANSAS CITY, Missouri (Isabelle Zehnder reporting) — On Tuesday, the manager of Festival Foods in Kansas City confirmed police requested surveillance video from his store in the case of missing baby Lisa Irwin who vanished one week ago today.
Earlier Fox 4 News reports indicated Lisa’s mother, Deborah “Debbi” Bradley was seen on video at the store buying a box of wine, paper plates, and napkins. During a call with the store manager Tuesday, who prefers not to be named, he said Debbi was seen on surveillance purchasing the wine but not the other items previously reported.
He said, “I was initially misinformed. When I spoke with Fox 4 News the information I had was third hand. I hadn’t seen the video yet.
“I’ve seen the video and the baby’s mother [Deborah Bradley] was seen with an unidentified man buying a box of wine. She did not buy paper plates or napkins,” the store manager said.
Asked if Debbie purchased other items he said, “Yes, she purchased miscellaneous other items,” but did not elaborate on what those items were.
“The time she [Debbie] came in was 5 p.m. the day the baby went missing. The two definitely came in together and purchased the items. The man looked younger, to me he looked like he was around 20,” the manager said. It was later reported that Deborah and her brother, Phillip Netz, were seen on surveillance at 4:45 p.m.
Asked if the man and Debbi were walking as friends or if they appeared to be involved in a relationship, the manager said they were just walking together. “They weren’t hugging or holding hands or anything like that,” he said. “But they definitely came in together and left together.”
Statement Analyst Peter Hyatt wrote on his blog Tuesday:
Fox News is reporting that on Monday, the night Lisa was reported to have gone missing, at 5PM, Deborah Bradley and an unidentified male were seen on surveillance video, purchasing a box of wine.
Police found a receipt in the house and followed up with the convenience store who had video. Monday was the night that Bradley claims she put Lisa to bed never to be seen again.
Is this something that Deborah Bradley withheld from police? When she spoke to media about her day Monday, she did not include it.
If she did not tell police about this, the question is now: Why the need to withhold this information?
Is it due to intoxication? Or, is it because of the unidentified male in the video? Did Jeremy come home early that night to discover Deborah with the unidentified male? Is this the male of whom police sought a DNA sample?
Perhaps Jeremy gave us a hint:
Jeremy Irwin, father of missing 10 month old, was asked, ‘who might have done this?” in regard to the investigation into his missing baby
“Someone who cheated on her husband” he began to say, cutting himself off at “husb…” as Lisa’s mother, Deborah Bradley, looked away.
What does Jeremy know? Is Lisa really his? Is he cooperating with police, or is he covering for her? She searches his face for answers when he speaks, while he remains stoic.
A Grand Jury has been convened for October 18th, and police have recently recreated the awkward and implausible “intruder” theory, perhaps in preparation for the Grand Jury.
Deborah Bradley reported that she failed a polygraph last week.
If Baby Lisa is found soon, an autopsy should reveal much. Will she be found wrapped in a blanket, indicative of parental crime?
Shaken Baby Syndrome?
Overdose of medicine to make her sleep?
Was she caught in the cross fire of domestic violence?
The intruder is implausible due to the noise level, as described. Please recall that Deborah said that black lab mix barks at those she does not recognize; implying that she does not bark at those she knows.
She did not bark that night; therefore, she recognized those who were there.
What of the 2:30AM call? Police have declined comment.
No arrests have been made. Deborah Bradley and Jeremy Irwin on not married but are said to be engaged.
Each day, it appears, a little more is known. Are police getting closer to solving the case?
Lisa is described as:
Lisa is described as a white, blonde hair, blue eyed baby girl.
She is 30 inches tall and was last seen wearing purple shorts and a purple shirt with kittens on it.
Lisa has two bottom teeth, a small bug bite under her left ear, and a beauty mark on her right outer thigh. She had a cold and cough before she went missing.
It is important to note that if Lisa was kidnapped her appearance has likely changed. She could be dressed like a boy and wearing a hat. It is important to look at her facial features and to note identifying features such as the beauty mark on her thigh. Slideshow: Photos of Lisa.
Kansas City Police are asking anyone with any information about Lisa’s disappearance or whereabouts to call them immediately at 816-474-TIPS.
