Last month, ‘Bachelor Pad 2’ winner Michael Stagliano admitted to ‘US Weekly’ that after winning his share of half of the $250,000 jackpot prize with partner & ex-fiance Holly Durst, he ‘should have been elated’ but instead ‘felt like a train wreck.’ Much of what we see on reality TV is staged, but the shock we all saw on winner Michael Stagliano’s face, as it was revealed on national TV during BP2’s finale, that his ex-fiance, Holly Durst, was now engaged to another ‘Bachelor Pad 2’ housemate, Blake Julian, was indeed real.
Most of who watched the entire season of ‘Bachelor Pad 2′ were rooting for partners Michael & Holly to get back together. They had a 2 year tumultuous relationship & had even at one point been engaged. To viewers of the show, it looked like they would indeed reunite at last, but that wasn’t to be. Blake Julian was smitten by Holly & eventually won her heart. What sealed that deal was their one on one date where Holly claimed she had the best date of her life. It wasn’t a surprise they were getting close in the Bachelor Pad or that they were dating. What came as a shock & surprise was how close the two had become after BP2’ taping. Noone was more taken aback then ‘Bachelor Pad 2’ winner Michael Stagliano. Last month Michael Stagliano revealed to ‘Us Weekly’ how he felt upon hearing the engagement news of his ex Holly to Blake Julian (Blake was also a contender to win Ashley Hebert’s heart on the last Season of ‘Bachelorette’) ‘I’m not an easily frazzled guy, but I don’t remember much of what happened in the next 30 minutes. I remember everyone’s faces were like ‘Oh G-d,’ but I stayed in game mode. I didn’t show I was pissed because the cast hadn’t voted for the winner yet.’ As to why Holly or Blake decided not to give Michael the heads up about the engagement, they claim producers told them not to, to which Michael found understandably inexcusable. He told Holly under his breath during a commercial break ‘This is horrible. I don’t know what you were thinking. This was awful.’ To which she said ‘I’m sorry. We tried to tell you.’ Michael said he was ‘sequestered by producers until Monday night. I didn’t need a phone call, just a text saying ‘Just so you know, we’re engaged.’ For them not to extend that small courtesy so I’m not blindsided on television, it upset me.’ In fact, Michael was so upset he skipped the after party. He went back to his hotel & his brother in law brought him In-N-Out Burger.
All emotions aside, Michael is not angry about sharing the prize money & does wish Holly well in the end. ‘Holly was an incredible partner in the game. She always had my back, she performed well on the final challenge & she earned her share of the prize.’ As to whether or not he thinks Holly & Blake will last, seems not so much. ‘My gut says no. I want Holly to be happy & I hope it lasts, they look incredibly in love, but she’s moving from California to South Carolina to live with a guy she’s known for three months. And Blake is kind of an a-hole.’
Don’t feel too sorry for Michael. He’s still $125,000 richer & plans on taking a vaca in the near future. ‘I’m going to get drunk on an island. I’m open to dating again. I love love. I love being in love.’ Outside looking in, Michael seems like such a rare gem, he won’t be single for long. He’s even open to being the next ‘Bachelor’ if they come knocking. ‘Of course. You can’t say no. You travel the world & meet 25 beautiful women. It’s an adventure & I’m an adventure hound. I’d do it 100 percent.’ Check out the entire Season of ‘Bachelor Pad2’ on http://abc.go.com/shows/bachelor-pad
