Perhaps it is due to the success of the 10-part web-series called Mortal Kombat: Legacy that really brough it to fruition, but at least they’re not just going to throw another worthless sequel out there. New Line has (owned by Warner Bros.) has now picked up a reboot of the franchise entirely for release.
The film will be live-action like the first two film – Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat: Annihilation – and the web-series. The geniuses behind the eight-minute short that spawned the Mortal Kombat: Legeacy will write (Oren Uziel) and direct (Kevin Tancharoen) the new reboot.
