If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, there is no shortage, and you’ve come to the right place. Shreveport and Bossier City are a mecca for motorcycle enthusiasts. The calendar rolled over to September 24 yesterday and with it Autumn entered the Ark-La-Tex. An excrutiating hot and dry summer is behind us, and cool weather is promised; weather that is bound to put a smile on all rider’s faces. As you contemplate where to ride and enjoy the cooler temperatures, consider some of the suggestions below, or visit my web page Pinky’s Motorcycle Passion for a plethora of rides, routes and favorite locations.
Art of the Road at artspace: Art of the Road exhibition opened at artspace in the Shreveport Downtown west end arts district. Curated by local, award winning bike builder, Steve Culp and his wife, motorcycle enthusiast, Liz Swaine, the display opened last night with a roar. This is one event you won’t want to miss. Entry is free whenever arspace is open. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Thursday 10 am – 5 pm, Thursday through Saturday 10 am – 10 pm and Sunday noon to 6 pm. The Art of the Road exhibition will be on display through October 22, 2011.
Coyote’s End of Summer Blowout: Coyotes end of summer blowout takes place today at Coyote’s Bar and Grill, the premier biker bar in Shreveport. Enjoy good times and cold beer with good friends and hot biker chicks! Take part in a biker burn out, wet t-shirt contest, bar time bingo, 50/50 drawing, and stupid people games. There will be music by Remedy Stick and the Lost Boys, and the grill will be open. Come on out and say goodbye to the summer heat, while welcoming in the Autumn weather. Address is 1618 Market Street, Shreveport, LA.
Louisiana Confederation of Clubs and Independents: The regular meeting of the Louisiana Confederation of Clubs and Independents will meet Sunday, Sep 26th, at 2 pm, at Brewzerz Bar and Grill, 1919 North MacArthur Drive, Alexandria, Louisiana. The Louisiana Confederation of Clubs & Independents is a member-based organization of patch holding Motorcycle Clubs, Associations, and Independents who have united to eliminate discrimination against motorcyclists and to increase communication and understanding between clubs, the motorcycling community, Government, and the communities of the state of Louisiana.
Steak night at Our Place Bar and Grill: This waterfront bar and grill is the place to be on Sunday afternoon for some great food, football and karaoke. Enjoy a ribeye steak, baked potato, roll and salad that rivals any in town. Address is 300 Cryers Camp Road, Elm Grove, LA.
There’s no shortage of things to do or places to go this weekend, so now that I’ve provided you a list, I hope to see you at one of these great events. I’ll certainly be at Coyote’s End of Summer Blowout today (if I can finish my self imposed writing assignments). I hope to see you there!
