Heading south of the border for a bank heist a group of five robbers stumbles into the Titty Twister Bar and find the blood-sucking patrons are more than they expected. Now surrounded by vampires, with cops hot on their trail, the five let the gore fly as they try to escape their worst nightmare.
Robert Patrick (Buck), Bo Hopkins (Sheriff Lawson), Duane Whitaker (Luther), Muse Watson (C.W.), Brett Harrelson (Ray Bob), Raymond Cruz (Jesus), Danny Trejo (Razor Eddie), Tiffani Thiessen (Pam), Bruce Campbell (Barry).
From dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money has a ridiculously long title but not much else going for it. Like the five bank robbers in the film, we are stuck in our worst nightmare watching this film. With none of the quality, character, or unique twists of the original this sequel is almost a complete disappointment. The only reason to watch to the end is to find out if the entire cast become vampire snacks. This one was obviously a quick knock-off to try and cash in on the tail of the original.
Acting was a mess. Patrick over-played his part, along with Hopkins, and felt like he was in the wrong film. Cruz was mildly more entertaining but would have been better with some humor tossed in. Even Trejo couldn’t save this one and felt out of place.
Camera work, sets, and backgrounds were about what you would expect from a low-budget long-run like this one. Effects were ridiculous and hardly even B-movie quality. Dialogue was boring and lacked any energy at all. Sound and soundtrack were all but forgotten.
Overall there isn’t much here if you are expecting something like the original. On the flip side, if you are a B-movie addict you might just enjoy this some.
With violence, gore, sexuality, and foul language save this one for older teens and above.
From Duck Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money is no longer showing in any Littleton Colorado movie theatres.
