To all Kentucky Authors, National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is slowly creeping up on us. NaNoWrMo is one month during the year when you write every day until you have something resembling a novel. This doesn’t count as a novel, but it is a great first draft. If you have never tried this project before, it is really fun doing something that thousands of other people are doing at the same time.
This year we have a new C0-ML for Kentucky, Rick Amburgey. Here is a recent email sent out by Rick.
I get so excited about this time of year. I love NaNoWriMo, but it’s extra exciting this year because I have been named co-ML for Kentucky’s Everywhere region. I have participated in Nano for several years, but it will be my first year serving as co-ML. I live in Hopkinsville, KY, so I am hoping to bring some events to the western Kentucky Area. In the past, people in the Pennyrile region had to go to Nashville or Bowling Green in order to attend events, but that is a thing of the past.
My name is Rick Amburgey and I am a Middle School reading teacher. I love my job, but it makes it hard to write a novel. This year, some of my co-workers and my students are taking the challenge with me, so we will all be in it together. I am planning several events for this region. I wanted to introduce myself and I would like to get an idea how many people would be interested in attending events in Hopkinsville. Please drop me a line and let me know.
Remember, NaNoWrMo starts on November 1st and runs through November 30th.
