“The X Factor” U.S. judge Nicole Scherzinger, who is a spokesmodel for London Fog, had her new ad campaign with the company revealed in the midst of rumors about Scherzinger’s love life. Other stars who have been spokesmodels for past London Fog campaigns include “Made Men” actress Christina Hendricks, supermodel Gisele Bundchen and “Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria.
Dari Marder, chief marketing officer at Iconix Brand Group (which owns the London Fog brand), commented to WWD on why London Fog decided to choose Scherzinger for its latest ad campaign: “Christina Hendricks was fantastic for us, but she was more classic and tailored. Nicole is a little more modern and contemporary. She has a really fierce sense of style. With ‘X Factor,’ this is her moment and it brings the brand to the forefront of the consumer’s mind.”

Meanwhile, rumors have already started about who might be Scherzinger’s next boyfriend. She and Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton broke up in October 2011 after dating each other for three years. Scherzinger has yet to publicly comment on the split, but on October 27, 2011, Hamilton confirmed that he and Scherzinger are no longer a couple. According to Reuters, Hamilton told reporters at the Indian Formula One Grand Prix in New Delhi, India: “We’re friends at least and we can move forward. It’s never easy going through tough times. These times are sent to try you, and it’s about how you pull through them.”
British tabloids have reported that “The X Factor” U.S. host Steve Jones and Scherzinger have gotten closer after her breakup, but that even though Jones is attracted to Scherzinger, she does not want to date him. The tabloids have also gone into gossip overdrive about the possibility that Scherzinger might be dating hip-hop star Drake, since the two were spotted hanging out together at the Cecconi’s restaurant in West Hollywood, California. (Paparazzi photos caught Drake and Scherzinger leaving the restaurant separately.)
Scherzinger, a former member of the Pussycat Dolls, has been trying to launch a successful solo career in the U.S. for years, but as a solo artist, she has not yet reached the same heights in the U.S. as she did when she was in the Pussycat Dolls. She recorded a solo album titled “Her Name Is Nicole,” which was not released in the U.S.
Her first U.S. solo album is “Killer Love,” and its release has been repeatedly delayed. (“Killer Love” was released in Europe in March 2011, where it became a hit, especially in the U.K.) Interscope Records currently does not have a U.S. release date for “Killer Love.” There have been two U.S. singles from the album so far: “Right There” (featuring 50 Cent), which peaked at No. 39 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and “Don’t Hold Your Breath,” which peaked at No. 86 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
December 28, 2011 update: Scherzinger and Hamilton have been seen in public looking like a cozy couple. Although they have not publicly made a statement about the current status of their relationship, it is obvious that they have gotten back together.
