It looks like President Obama, now in full campaign mode, is targeting the west coast this week, seeking to re-energize his liberal base. According to a report on MySanAntonio.com, the president is scheduled to attend multiple fundraisers with stops in cities like Seattle, Hollywood, and San Diego.
At a time in which people are struggling to get by, President Obama and the Democrats have recently shifted their political rhetoric, using words like “fairness” and “middle class”, which most Americans by now understand it to mean a full-blown class warfare against what Democrats call the “fortunate rich”. The president and his supporters are convinced this is a winning strategy.
President Obama and the Democrats in Congress have been working extra hard to try to convince the “poor” and the “working, middle class” that they are set on helping them out (most would contend this is about 3 years too late). However, in order for Obama’s “middle class” supporters to get a chance to see the president speak out here on the West Coast, his supporters have to cough up $35,800 dollars per couple.
It’s doubtful the real “middle class” of America here in the west coast is going to make it to any of the fundraisers. The REAL middle class has got to go to work, pay bills, buy diapers, and secure basic food necessities for the week.
Poll after poll reveals an increasing dissatisfaction with the job the president is doing. Most Americans understand that the president was handed a pretty bad hand as he took office. It is important that Republicans are honest about this. President Obama did not initiate the horrible economic climate in America. However, most Americans are also coming to the realization that rather than improving things (even if in tiny increments) President Obama’s policies are making things worse. His recent “Jobs Plan” (also 3 years too late) most would contend is simply aimed at increasing government and union jobs – which the taxpayer ends up having to pay for in the end. This is reflective of the REAL class warfare that is taking place in Ameirca. The Government/Union Class vs. the rest of America.
Unemployment numbers are higher now than when the president came into office. Gas prices are higher as well, and now, because of Obamacare, it is becoming increasingly more difficult for people to afford their very own private health insurance.
Needless to say, times are tough for Americans; tougher than they’be been in a very, very long time. Apparently, for President Obama, though, this lends African-Americans zero justification for voicing their dissatisfaction with his job performance. According to a report on RollingOut.com, speaking in front of 3,000 people at the Congressional Black Caucus, President Obama had some strange words for his “minority” supporters.
“Take off your bedroom slippers. Put on your marching shoes. Shake it off. Stop complaining. Stop grumbling. Stop crying. We are going to press on. We have work to do.”
It would be safe to assume that most Americans (of whatever race – not just African-Americans) would respectfully tell the president:
“You’re telling US there’s work to do? Mr. President, we’ve BEEN working. We’ve BEEN marching…marching to and from work everyday. Marching trying to find work. Working hard to cover our expenses. Working hard to educate our children. Our slippers, Mr. President, have BEEN off for a long time now. In fact, it’s time for you to put yours back on Mr. President. We’re sending YOU back to bed. Good night and sleep tight.”
The jobless rate in the African-American community? 16.7%, which is almost double that of the national average. Once, people clamored for the promise of “Hope and Change”. Now, there is the ugly realization that it was all just a “Show and Fame”.
One of “Senator” Obama’s favorite things to say, while he campaigned for the presidency, was that to vote for John McCain would be to vote for more of the same. Most people agreed with him in 2008. In fact, even today, in the year 2011, most people would STILL agree with that assertion.
Unfortunately, for “President” Obama, most reasonable Americans have come to the realization (as reflected in the polls) that not only has our president been more of the same, but he’s been more of the same ON STEROIDS.
