Station Casinos’ tag line is “We Love Locals,” for the more than 2 million people who call Las Vegas home, and Station Casinos prove it with Pasta Cucina, a great Italian restaurant located in Boulder Station, Palace Station, Aliante Casino Hotel and Sunset Station.
The first thing to notice is the atmosphere, which has the effect that the restaurant is somehow removed from the casino and actually in an Italian village. Soft music is played as part of the dining experience which can be easily heard (and conversations can still be enjoyed) and totally different from the more upbeat music played in the casino. The dining area features its own full bar, tables for two and four (and can be moved to accommodate larger parties) with small trees strategically placed throughout and lights strung up overhead.
For beverages, Pasta Cucina has an extensive wine selection available by the bottle or glass and the wait staff is quite knowledgeable about the wines offered. Real Italian soda is offered with flavors such as almond cream, blackberry, blueberry, cherry, cherry lime, orange, orange cream, pomegranate, raspberry, strawberry, tiramisu, and watermelon. An Italian soda is a great pairing for a non-alcoholic beverage choice.
For starters, fried artichokes served with garlic buttermilk sauce or chilled grilled tomato with fresh mozzarella on parmesan crouton is just two of the many great choices. Salads offered include an Italian grilled chicken Cobb salad made with crisp romaine topped with grilled chicken, artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomato, crispy pancetta, black olives, bleu cheese, egg and tossed in herb vinaigrette.
Entrees feature the lighter side of chicken and fish, along with homemade pastas, thin crust stone oven pizzas, and steaks for those with a heartier appetite.
The Chicken Piccata sautéed and served with a lemon caper sauce with a side of linguini and north Atlantic salmon, grilled and brushed with butter and fresh basil, served with sautéed spinach are tasty and filling. New York Strip Steak is served with crispy parmesan potatoes and Veal Scaloppini made with tender veal medallions, sautéed and drizzled with white wine mushroom sauce, served with sautéed spinach and linguini would certainly satisfy those super hungry.
The signature house made thin crust pizza feature toppings such as Spinach and Artichoke made with artichoke hearts, fresh spinach, herb cream sauce, topped with mozzarella and basil and Tuscan, an oven roasted eggplant, roasted pepper, Italian sausage, basil tomato sauce and mozzarella.
Fettuccini Alfredo, the classic pasta dish with Pasta Cucina’s signature Alfredo sauce can be enjoyed as pasta or with added helpings of grilled chicken or shrimp.
Coffee, cappuccino, espresso along with fresh gelato and cannoli finish off the meal before heading back to the casino for some entertainment.
The best news is that no entrée is priced over $20 and many start at $9.99. For a taste of Italian, Pasta Cucina is a wonderful place to dine.
