With an aura of confidence and professionalism Rushern Baker, III, Prince Georges County Executive
shared his vision and agenda for Prince Georges County which is all encompassing and equally impacting on the life quality of both Prince Georges County residents and business entities.
County Executive Baker vision for Prince Georges County focuses on advancements and gains in:
Economic Development: Economic vision of the county executive is focused on job creation, presenting Prince Georges County as a hub for other business enterprise headquarters and venue extension, and a boost to small and minority business growth and retention throughout the county. Looking towards the EDI fund program is one of the avenues sought and hoping to accomplish the task as well as the push towards a Green Economy. Both endeavors and others under consideration will mandate job creation and bring increased revenues into the county.
It is the aspiration of the Baker administration to achieve economic success without further taxation on the income of Prince Georges County residents.
Health Care: Focus on accessibility to quality health care for all county residents. Facilitating this vision is the conversion of PG General Hospital into a leading Teaching Hospital and a Regional Health Care Facility. Transforming health care not only brings quality care of its recipients but jobs and quality health care professionals into the county
Education: Not limited to raising test scores of students but the cultivation of innovative programs that benefit’s the daily learning experience of students such as the PG County partnership with GSA to supply computers for learning and new construction. Overall improvement of the lives of teens and students is a major plus for the future of PG County and its residents.
Public Safety: Public Safety is a major concern for County Executive Baker. As of to date Prince Georges County has the lowest crime rated within the last 35 years.
Overall it is the goal of the Baker administration to exude of clarity , transparency, and the highest standard of professionalism in its operations and from those who serve and to those served.
The openness of the Mr. Baker was welcoming during our interview session. High hopes and excitement of recently achieved accomplishments and the enthusiastic hope for the future came through loud and clear.
