Joe Walsh is one of rock music’s most prolific writers and performers in the history of the genre. His well-known work with The Eagles includes songs he penned for the band, like “In the City” (Walsh also sang on this one) and “Life In The Fast Lane” (co written with Glenn Frye and Don Henley) as well as his guitar contributions to the 1976 classic album (Walsh’s first with The Eagles) Hotel California and the 1979 mega hit album, The Long Run, among several other Eagles’ classics. Walsh remains a member of the current eagles touring band and contributed to their most recent album, 2007’s Long Road Out Of Eden.
Walsh’s band, James Gang, had hits in the late 60’s and early 70s that include “Funk 48,” “Funk 49” and “Walk Away” and Walsh’s stellar solo career is highlighted by hits like, “Rocky Mountain Way,” “A Life of Illusion,” “All Night Long,” (from Urban Cowboy soundtrack) and the all-time classic, “Life’s Been Good,” one of my personal top ten all-time favorite songs.
In addition to his contributions to various bands and his solo work, Walsh has appeared as a guest performer and guitarist on a staggering number of albums for other artists that cover a wide range of genres including, John Entwistle’s solo Too Late The Hero, (Walsh performed and produced), Andy Gibb’s “Love Is Thicker Than Water,” Lionel Richie’s “Wandering Stranger,” and Bob Segar’s “The Fire Inside,” to name just a few. Other artists include; Rick Derringer, Steve Winwood, Wilson Phillips, Richard Marx, The Beach Boys, Warren Zevon, Carl Palmer, Dan Fogelberg and Keith Moon, among others.
Joe Walsh is a musical giant and a legend. Phoenix music fans are being given a rare opportunity to see one of rock’s greatest in the intimate and fantastic setting of the Ovations LIVE! Showroom at the Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino. Don’t miss this chance to see Joe Walsh!
