So, you don’t think you’re pretty in pink, well rethink. It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month and everyone is “Pinking Out” for the cause. Unfortunately, Breast Cancer has touched the lives of so many. For the victims who are in the struggle, for those who have survived, and for those who fought the good fight, let’s pink out our makeup in their honor. Lets continue to show our support for a cure.
Wearing pink eye shadows and lip stick shades can sometimes create a bit of skepticism. Here are a few eye shadow colors that may help in achieving a “Pretty in Pink” look. First up is Giddy found in Bare Minerals “Honeymoon Phase” eye duo. That pink is a little darker than pale pink and has a satin finish. Turn that soft subtle eye look into something a bit bolder by smoking out the corners with its partner “Do Not Disturb” a grayish black with a hint of sparkle.
Next is MAC Cosmetics, which has an array of pinks, such as, “Yogurt” true pale pink with a matte finish, “Pink Freeze” a bright (not hot) pink with a frosted finish, and “Swish,” which is almost a hot pink with a shimmery finish.
For the more daring divas, “Sushi Flower” which is a satin finish and “Passionate” a matte finish, are two bold and beautiful, bright hot pinks. Now here is a true fact about different tones of pink eye shadows, any of them may be worn with any complimenting color(s) with the use of appropriate tools/brushes, proper placement,( i.e. lid, crease, etc) and utilization of essential blending techniques.
For the lips, there are a zillion and one pink lip products out there. You are destined to find one that suites those puckers just fine. A couple of hot picks are MAC’s “Pretty Please” lipstick, which is a matte finish and great all year round. Top that off with a swipe of Bare Mineral’s “Dani” buxom lip gloss and you have yourself a Breast Cancer Awareness winning combination.
Also, try Bare Mineral’s pretty amazing lip colors in “Charisma” and “Ambition.” Top either of them with “Katie” buxom gloss to make it even more fabulous. Now pink blush can be a little challenging. Try using a contouring or natural color first, then pop a pink of your choice just on the apple of the cheek. This technique works every time. Go out and show your support for Breast Cancer Awarness by stopping in to see your favorite makeup artist. She or he will artistically pull a look together that’s complimenting to you.
Last, but not least are some cute, must-have add-ons. Sephora’s “Perfect Pink Brush Set” which includes five essential brushes all pinked out and the pink rhinestone studded mirrored compact, way too cute. Find more information about this set here.
