Good day readers. I hope all your days are Happy and all your hours good. We are hot on the job and Johnny on the spot continuing on with seeking out and locating a good Happy Hour. This visit brings us to Popos Fiesta Del Sol Mexican Food. Our location is at Arrowhead which is on 59thand Bell in Phoenix, Arizona. This particular location is fairly new. Well what Popos has to show is a colorful building outside as well as inside. The place seems very inviting going in, but as we look around for the Happy Hour hype, the banners, the chalk board, the beer logos, the sports décor, the fiesta feel, we get a small taste of what could be. There is a small sign at the entrance that points out the fact that PoPos has the football package. But there are very few television monitors and even fewer specials aimed at game days. There were no streamers and paraphernalia was few and far in between. As enthusiasts seeking some Happy Hour info to know what type of Happy Hour we are getting into, we didn’t see any readily. We had to ask what were the Happy Hour ‘haps’.
The Happy Hour haps as far as drink specials and hours of Happy Hour operation are as follows:
Happy Hour is every day from 3pm until 7pm. The fact that PoPos entertains Happy Hour every day is special, but the time for each day is short which means the hours are not that special. As far as drinks go they offer House Margaritas for $3.00. House Wine for $3.00. Three Olive Drinks for $3.00. Sangria for $3.00 and the house flavors are Lemon, Lime, Orange, Apple, Strawberry or Pineapple. Import Bottles are $3.00 and Domestic Bottles are $2.25. Draft beers are 16oz Domestic – $2.25 and 16oz Imports are $3.00. 24oz Domestic – $3.00 and 24oz Imports are $3.75. Beer Buckets (5 Beers) which are served All Day, sell for Domestics – $10.00 and Imports go for $12.00. Whew. You can say that again. We see a wide variety but the prices that go with them are not quite the winning prices that we would expect that are targeting the happy in Happy Hour. As examiners of the event, we have seen better pricing which target bigger smiles and a happier Happy Hour. We can’t get too happy about what we are up against as far as specialty pricing goes at PoPos. Unfortunately, there didn’t seem to be any specialty pricing on appetizers during Happy Hour. With a Happy Hour so short for the day, you would think PoPos would throw some food at the enthusiast to help make the experience complete. PoPos earns a 4 on our happy meter which runs from 1 to 10. See you at the next spot.
