One might not put folk rock and Halloween in the same category right off the bat, but one might want to reconsider amidst all the festivities this weekend. Skully’s Music Diner, known for its special party nights as well as its concerts, is hosting a special Halloween show this Sunday with three renowned local bands.
The headliner is Indigo Wild, a group that has recently played the Basement and become friends with opener Deadwood Floats. If you are not sure if Indigo Wild has a sound that would appeal to you, consider what they say in their biography:
Indigo Wild achieves a groove that captivates listeners with a robust rhythmic section and finicky guitar duals drenched in reverb, all topped off by waves of three-part harmony and melodic chants.
Sound intriguing? It might be a good show for you.
Direct support will be provided by And Away They Go, formerly known as Glass Halo. Of the three groups, they are the only one from out of state and this is one of two shows they are playing in Ohio in the near future. Skully’s Music Diner initially had this group listed as headlining on their website but take note – If you look at the official event page on Facebook, Deadwood Floats goes on at 6:30 PM, followed by And Away They Go at 7:30, then Indigo Wild at 8:30. All three bands get 45 minute sets, so while the order has changed those browsing the Skully’s webpage need not be annoyed by false advertising.
The show is open to all ages, and there will be a $5 cover at the door. Doors will open at 6 PM. If the comments on the Facebook event are any indication, costumes are encouraged but not required.
