‘Killer Curves’ is a contemporary romantic suspense novel written by Roxanne St. Claire, a National bestselling author and winner of several awards. This 350-page novel was published by Pocket Books, a division of Simon & Schuster, Inc., in February 2005. When a NASCAR driver enlists a New York debutante’s help to save the life of her biological father, their attraction turns into a steamy romance while they continue to battle over her impending decision and unknown danger.
New York debutante Celeste Bennett is a docent at a museum. She receives a visit from the handsome and popular race car driver Beau ‘Lightning Bolt’ Lansing. Beau reveals the purpose of his visit to be a life or death situation. Celeste is told that he works for Travis Chastaine, owner of Chastaine Motorsports. As Celeste is Travis’ only living relative, Beau’s objective is to get Celeste to donate one of her kidneys to save Travis’ life.
Celeste realized who her biological father was at a young age and always wondered why he abandoned her. Before she agrees to give up a kidney, she is determined to get to know her father first. She decides to take a break to escape from the current turmoil in her life and goes undercover as Cece Benson, a sponsor liaison for Chastaine Motorsports, hoping to get answers about her past and learn where she belongs.
Travis believes that Cece will be a distraction for Beau, but hires her anyway. He fabricates an engagement between Beau and Cece as a means to fend off the sponsor’s wife and other fans to keep their sponsor happy.
Even though they come from different worlds, Beau and Celeste cannot fight their continual attraction. Upon realizing someone is aware of her true identity and has threatened her life, Beau institutes a plan to ensure her safety. At the same time, Celeste is enjoying the adventure. Together, they fight different forces to reach their ultimate goal and find true love.
