Go ahead and live a little, experience how the other half lives, if even for just one day. Rent a luxury car that is out of your realm of affordability, a vehicle that you only dare dream about, one that you’ve salivated over every time one zoomed past you on the highway. Life is short, dream big for a day and fake it, til ya make it!
Picture yourself driving with an air of success. Try splurging for a special occasion like an anniversary, birthday present to yourself or in celebration of a promotion at work. A luxury rental can run the gamut from a limo to a pricey SUV.
Many of the mainstream car rental companies in the larger cities have a luxury line extension in their fleet. Hertz for instance at designated locations has their Prestige Collection which offers consumers vehicles such as a Mercedes-Benz C, E Class and GLK 350 SUV. They also offer Infiniti cars like the FX35, G37 and the mammoth QX56. The prices for these vehicles hover at around $120 per day. Hertz and Avis also offers Corvettes, again, only at some locations, with a daily rental rate of around $135.
If you dream of stomping with the high rollers, car companies like Prestige Luxury Auto Rental in South Florida has a $350,000 Lamborghini Murcielago for just $2,500 per day. A hot rental spot, Gotham Dream Cars located in New York City and Miami, specialize in supercar rentals. A $183,000 Aston Martin DB9 Volante can run you $1,100 for the first day and $750 for each additional. Gotham also has a Ferrari 458 Italia (pictured) with a sticker price of $278,000 which you can rent for $1,950 per day, plus $1,300 for each additional. Beverly Hills Rent-A-Car in California is a celeb hotspot where A-listers like Denzel Washington and Leo DiCaprio are regulars. The company has a huge fleet of high priced beauties such as a $80,000 Porsche Panamera for a mere $489 per day, or at a daily rate of $589, a classic 1966 Cadillac DeVille convertible can be yours for the renting.
A few things to keep in mind before you go for the gold. It’s oftentimes less costly to rent during the week. Prices for weekend rentals of luxury cars can climb by quite a few hundred dollars. The mileage limits are pretty tight for these types of vehicles, so know that if you go over what is stipulated, you’ll probably have to dole out quite a bit of cash. Security deposits on luxe rentals can also be astronomical, so don’t be near the limit on your credit card. When you fill ‘er up, don’t try to pull a fast one and pump regular gas into a car that calls for premium. The rental company could wind up charging you a huge fee for trying to go the cheapie route on the grade of gas for their cars and oh btw, they’ll know….
