Sunday Supper, the new old-fangled phenomenon that became all the rage in the city some two years only to be eclipsed by other trends has returned. From Tasting Table, comes word that five newcomers are providing a month of Sundays’ worth of the homey meals—literally.
Beginning this coming Sunday, October 2,and recurring each Sunday for the next three weeks (October 9, 16,and 23), Atlantic Grill, Burger & Barrel, Goat Town, Primehouse, and Resto will be warming their hearths and—given the option—your cockles.
Each of the two-course meals, the particulars of which vary with the restaurant, is $35, which price includes a Stella Artois. Some of the offerings are more in keeping with the “slow cook” spirit of Sunday Supper than others. Goat Town, for example, features braised goat shoulder with anchovy, cranberry, and herbed bread salad, and one of the main course choices at Burger & Barrel is lasagna. Not that there is anything wrong with the lobster bisque or omakase sushi sampler at Atlantic Grill.
