Revenge, a series about betrayal and vengence, aired its second episode on ABC on September 28, 2011 and the intrigue continues as Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp) plots to take down the people who betrayed her father, causing his ruin and death.
Revenge is the new hit drama on ABC’s Wednesday night fall lineup. The series stars Madelein Stowe, Emily VanCamp Gabriel Mann, Henry Czerny, Ashley Madekwe, Nick Wechsler, Josh Bowman, Christa B. Allen and Connor Paolo.
In the satisfying tale of betrayal and venenge, the story is a bit of a fantasy. A young woman aches to get even with the people who destroyed her family, and miraculously, is given the means to move into the Hamptons to secretly live amongst those very people. Besides the means, Emily has gained a set of secret skills, worthy of a 007 Secret Agent. Using a secret identity, Emily Thorne, formerly Amanda, ingratiates herself with society, gains their trust and takes her revenge.
In the second episode, Trust, Emily focuses on Bill Harmon, the man she used to call Uncle Bill. Bill Harmon was a close friend of Emily’s father, until Bill betrayed her father by testifying that he funded terrorists.
Emily lets Bill know that she is friends with Nolan Ross (Gabriel Mann) and slips him some bad insider information. In spite of his expertise and success and Wall Street trading, Bill falls for it and invests all his money, and the money of his clients, losing it all. Emily draws a big red X on his picture. Nolan swoops in and buys Lydia’s house, giving it to Emily as a birthday gift to Amanda,
In episode three, Betrayal, Emily gets unexpected assistance from her new ally, Nolan, in her mission to destroy the political and professional life of the district attorney who convicted her father. Meanwhile, Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe) privately grieves the loss of her only true love while plotting to confiem her suspicions about Emily’s past. Daniel Grayson (Josh Bowman) exposes a side of himself that Emily finds impossible to resist.
