Roberto Cavalli sent his spring/summer 2012 collection down the Milan fashion Week runway today. The collection was filled with traditional Cavalli animal prints and golden metallics as well as more ladylike silhouettes and floor length hemlines than seen in previous seasons. Roberto Cavalli contrasted his soft, flowing fabrics with stiff and structured handbags; which added additional formality to the entire line.
While the long, flowing hemlines on Roberto Cavalli’s spring 2012 runway moved and flowed with the models as they walked, the handbags were structured and classic; a stark move away from the more heavily embellished handbags we saw from the designer last year.
For spring/summer 2012, Roberto Cavalli designed a classic, double handle satchel in neutral colors of white, black and pale beige. The large satchel featured a detachable shoulder strap and a medium sized version was shown sans the strap.
Roberto Cavalli’s collection featured a large amount of gold metallic embellishments or fabrics which were appropriate for evening occasions. In order to compliment his line, the designer showed a several evening bags during Milan Fashion Week.
There were two evening clutches on Roberto Cavalli’s spring 2012 runway, a structured, rectangle box clutch and a structured metallic leather clutch. Both evening clutch styles were formal in nature and blended well with the golden hues on the runway. Roberto Cavalli showed his clutches in both metallic leather and exotic skins.
There was also one daytime clutch on the Milan Fashion Week runway for spring 2012. Roberto Cavalli created a structured clutch shown in golden beige and white which featured a strap across the front for easy handling. The daytime clutch was medium in size and could easily be carried from day into evening.
