Halloween is just around the corner and there are a few rock climbing events going on to help get your climb on while in your spooktacular costume. And it definitely doesn’t hurt that some of them are contests that could win you some top-notch gear.
The Outdoor Adventure Club in San Francisco, California will be having a Halloween rock climbing, camping, and costumes weekend at Pinnacles National Monument. Pinnacles National Monument is just 90 minutes south of San Jose near Hollister. Camping is Friday and Saturday night, October 28th and October 29th. This is for beginner and more advanced climbers as well. Age preference 21 and up. Cost is $239-289 and that includes the camping, camping permits, professional guides, meals and guided climbing. Westchester’s Ridge Hill in Yonkers, New York will be hosting a Halloween Black Light Climbing Party on Thursday, October 27th from 6:00 p.m. until late. Climbers will get to demo Petzl headlamps and harnesses. There will be a Blacklight Bouldering Costume Contest, and you will get candy and prizes at the TOP of the climbs. Admission is free for members and $5 for those in costume.
Tonight, October 26th, Adrenaline Climbing in Suwanee, Georgia will be hosting their Halloween Party and Awesomeness Competition from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. Bring your own pumpkin for a carving contest. The IRONMAN/IRONWOMAN competition will be in full force and you could get some great prizes with the points you rack up. If you climb in your costume, you get 500 extra points. Competition fee is $25.
On Halloween day, Climb Iowa will have buckets of candy hanging at the top of the routes, and at the end of the night, prizes will be given away for the best costumes. This event is from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
The Front Climbing Club in Ogden, Utah will be holding their Deadpoint Climbing Competition on Saturday, October 29th. All ages and abilities are invited to attend the Deadpoint competition, and you’re encouraged to wear a Halloween costume as there is a contest during the climbing competition. Get ready for some Halloween fun while challenging yourself in a climbing competition and be sure to stay safe. If you’re not feeling up to competing, just be a spectator and enjoy the creative costumes and killer bouldering/climbing moves that the competitors will display while trying to win that prize.
