On Friday, Susan Herr, Associate Executive Director, gave me a personal tour of the new and improved Rocky Run YMCA in Media, Pa., Delaware County. The Rocky Run Y certainly got a facelift! Built in 2001, Rocky Run YMCA is still under construction with adding an additional 22,000 square feet to its’ already expansive facility. Susan says, the purpose is to provide every member more space and more opportunity to do what they enjoy. Families will have more options because of the additonal recreational space and zero depth pool and slide. Members should not expect a huge increase in their membership dues, thanks to the contributions of some local companies who helped raise capital for the expansion. An open house will be scheduled in December, a date to be determined.
