Friday, November 11th is Veteran’s Day, a day to honor our veterans of war and thank them for their service to their country.

HIGHLIGHT: Saturday, November 5th, 8:30am (arrive 8:15am), Dharma Drum Mountain Buddhist Association, Sunnyvale Chapter Blessing (DDMBA) by the abbots of Dharma Drum Mountain from Taiwan and New York. Afterwards, at 9:30am (arrive by 9:00am), there will be a Great Compassion Repentance ceremony, a wonderful, purifying and uplifting ceremony. 11:30am will begin the Three Refuges and Five Precepts ceremony, for people who wish to become Buddhist and taking the vows. This is a special opportunity to receive the precepts from Dharma Heirs of the late Venerable Master Sheng-yen, one of the most respected Chan masters. HIGHLIGHT: Sunday, November 6th, 9:30am-4:30pm, ABS Temple extends a warm invitation to attend A Daylong Retreat. Ven. Sobhana Bhikkuni will be giving a special Teaching on Nutriments, the supporting conditions for abandoning hindrances and developing factors of enlightenment. This will be a silent daylong retreat, with sitting and walking meditation according to the four foundations of mindfulness. Bring a dish to share.
