It’s not every day that I’m Speechless! Until the moment I took my first bite of Santora’s Pizza. This is definitely food for the soul and after two hearty slices my appetite was content. This pizza reminded me of my mom’s hand-made concoctions, filled with love. I was lucky enough to run right into the owner (mid-bite) and we chatted about the business and how it has grown immensely in the past few years.
“Quality is everything, We are always cooking 24/7 to ensure that everything is fresh and made to order”, said Owner Anthony Santora.
Much is to be said of the quality of the pizza. Everything from the Hand-tossed Crust to the delectible sauce is made from scratch. Santora holds no punches either, he uses premium sausages and tomatoes with the finest cheese blends, which leaves an unprecendented mark on all that wander into his quintessentially italian storefront.
He knows his audience and he serves them masterfully, and with a great media team you can spot Santora’s commercials all through the day. They don’t close til 4 am, So if you have a late night hankering for breadsticks and that utterly delicious sauce, step right up.
I automatically felt the love as I saw generations of family members framed along the walls, I felt a closeness that seems to be hard to come by in most commercial restaurants where everything is so scripted, rehearsed even. The smiles here are real and so is the food.
The Midtown location is great and I often here people say it’s the best spot after bar hopping or dancing to feel at home.
There is quite a bit of passion infused in the voice of Anthony Santora when I ask about what the pizzeria means to him,
“I want to offer the community real food at real prices”, he said and with the dollar per slice deals this remains true.
You can add any topping you want for a buck more and you don’t feel cheated like other places where you easily can eat 5 slices of pizza with feeling the least bit full.
There are the cutest wrought iron table sets outside to read and eat, take in the fresh air and the aroma of fresh spices any foodie would enjoy.
I suppose it’s about making a choice, and having an alternative. Ladies and gent’s who are dieting shouldn’t feel the least bit guilty about feasting on any of the menu items. It’s better to eat whole fats like the kinds in whole cheese then the processed frozen food in stores now.
If you want to a slice of heaven stop by Santora’s Pizza on 3834 Main Street in Kansas City, Missouri , They also deliver until 4 AM , with no minimum order.
