Sex is one of the areas that crosses into each slice of SEMPSF– the Spiritual, Emotional, Mental, Physical, Social and Financial slices of our being, and impacts them all.
The choices we make about sex have powerful consequences on our life and the life around us because sex is woven into each view -SEMPSF of our created self.
Living green, being pro-life, or ‘for the continuation of life’ is full of choices.
Spiritually, if we acted as if we only had a body, no mind, no heart or feelings, no impact on others, no financial presence, ever, we’d all have very short lives. That would be it. We’d all get and give sexually transmitted diseases. Our lives would be shortened at best. There would be no children, or they wouldn’t live long, not only because there would be diseases carried from the parents, but there would be no one to care for them, because without all of our SEMPSF gifts, there would be no bonding, no compassion, no motivation for the good of the other. There would be few women because they would either die from disease, abortion or unattended childbirth. The men would all be sick and dying. This is the result of sex disconnected from our entire, created being. There would be no pleasure, no pain, no compassion, no love, no commitment because we would not have the gifts that make pleasure as we know it possible.
Thank God we are not so lost. Our market-cultures try to manipulate us away from all the ‘branches’ of SEMPSF, that woven together are the shelter we go through this World wearing. This makes us wonderfully human, and a part of creation worth celebrating.
Research on the impacts of sexual choices are revealing the ways in which marketing cultures try to market us away from the awareness of the SEMPSF impact of our sexual choices; away from our true selves.
The American Dream allows us the choice, to listen to the hype or not. The hype that tries to gouge our wallets, disconnect us from our healthy emotions, thinking rationally, embracing our Spiritual self, living our Social and Financial lives in freedom from pressure, guilt and shame we have a choice to live a life free of regret, or to carry the extra weight that hype-believing lays on us, and those who share our journey.
The American Dream allows us to live the truth, or with the truth, or be in denial/ignorance. Choices are made- a good choice, or the best choice we knew was available, or we embrace the hype.
The American Dream allows the room for reclaiming. Its part of the recycling feature. You don’t have to ‘go there again‘. Think about it. Today is the first of Forty Days of World Wide Prayer for Life. Being brave is part of the American Dream. Stand up for you; its also standing up for someone else.
