Weak high pressure over the area today will give most of western New York a dry day. There will be a few lake effect showers over the lake today, but most of them should remain off shore. It will be partly cloudy with high temperatures in Buffalo in the mid to upper 40’s.
Clouds are already streaming northeastward across western New York in advance of our next system. Low pressure over the Tennessee Valley early this morning will move to the central Appalachians today, then reform near the Mid Atlantic coast tonight. At the same time, weak low pressure will drop southeastward through the Great Lakes. As a result, scattered rain and snow showers will be possible tonight and Saturday across the Buffalo area. Low temperatures tonight will be in the low 30’s with highs on Saturday in the mid 40’s.
The evolution of this weather pattern is still somewhat uncertain, so stay tuned for any last minute changes or updates.
Both systems should lift northeastward away from the area Saturday night. Weak high pressure will return to the area Sunday providing us with some sunshine to finish out the weekend.
