The Space Coast Stadium in Viera will host the 2011 Art of Sand exhibit for ten days in October. The Art of Sand is a sand sculpting exhibition that features the artistry of 17 International Master Sand Sculptors. They will be given over 1,000 tons of sand to work with during the event, which lasts from October 14 – 23.
Visitors to the Art of Sand can expect to find the following:
- Artistic sculptures up to 18 ft. tall
- Professional Master Sculptors sculpting live at the stadium.
- The Corporate Challenge – teams representing local companies compete in a sand-sculpting contest.
- School Sculpting Competition – teams representing local schools compete in a sand-sculpting contest.
- Sand sculpting lessons on Saturday and Sunday.
- An area for ‘hands-on’ sculpting for adults and children so they may try it out.
- Live entertainment will be available on week-ends.
Hours of operation
The exhibit will be open from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Mondays the exhibit will be closed. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, the operating hours are from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. The last admission will be one hour before closing on any given day.

Saturday, October 22: Schools Competition, Live Entertainment all day! Breast Cancer Awareness Day
Sunday, October 23: Closing Day, Live Entertainment all day!
During the Art of Sand Festival, on Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., visitors can learn the secrets of sand. They can see a demonstration on how to prepare sand for sculpting as well as tips and tricks. After the demonstration – everyone will be welcome to try sculpting sand in the area provided. The organizers have issued the following request:

Tickets may be purchased at the gate or online. Adult tickets will be $8 and there will be discounts for Seniors and active Military. Children ages 3-12 will be $6 and children two and under will be free. Parking will be $5 per car.
