Sleek and stylish, casual and comfortable, gourmet and just downright ‘good,’ Stack is an upscale take on classic American dining that will take your perspective on comfort food for a spin. Classics you’d find in the average sports bar boast pristine quality and inventive additives, joining fine steaks and seafood for a burger joint-meets-steakhouse production. Inventive appetizers and sides beg to be tried in mass with their novel tastes, incorporating everything from BLT blinis to lava rocks for added panache. The lively environment caters to crowds of all ages and sizes, sending the simple message of ‘eat, drink, party’ in this relaxed but sporty scene.
Location:3400 South Las Vegas Boulevard, Las Vegas, NV 89109. Mirage, Central Strip.
Price and Value: ~$75/person plus drinks. Stack’s tasteful creations provide some of the most intriguing flavors on the strip, but high appetizer prices and $19 cocktails deter groups from sampling these items with the breadth they warrant.
Variety: The menu may only take up a page, but it features nuances drawn from specialties around the world. The small shared plates boast standout flavors and artistic presentation, from the Kobe Chili Cheese Fries to Yellowtail Sashimi and Miso Hibachi Skewers. Mains are a tad limited, made up of mostly steakhouse fare, but include daily pastas and a burger choice to mix things up.
Atmosphere: Thumping music livens the scene as you walk through the lounge, but quiets to a comfortable tone once you reach your table. Elegantly stained ‘stacked’ wood paneling swerves around the upper interior with layered chandeliers shining red lighting over an upbeat crowd. Electric vibes make Stack an ideal stop for large groups looking for a good bite and some great drinks before a night on the Strip.
Service: Servers work in duos to accommodate Stack’s inevitable crowd, greeting and caring for their guests with friendly attitudes and immediate responsiveness. Shout-out to Brett and Dindo, two servers who bring a joyful attitude to the dining experience.
