Suburgatory continued Wednesday at 8:30PM on ABC 7 in Queens with “Don’t Call Me Shirley.” What happened when Dallas and Dalia temporarily moved in with George and Tessa?
The sound of sirens reminded Tessa of home. Someone had stolen Sheila’s dolls. Noah was cashing in on the theft (mouth guards) and suggested George do the same (panic room). Dallas was panicked because her husband was out of town, and George suggested taking precautions. Meanwhile at school, Mr. Wolfe made an announcement about the thefts, and Dalia took over the microphone, placing blame on Tessa.
Tessa tried to talk George into moving back to the city, but he said the neighborhood was safer than their old one. That was when Dalia and Dallas showed up to stay since they didn’t have a panic room. Dallas made some changes about dinner: regular plates, a prayer about how unhealthy the pizza was, and no answering the doorbell. Tessa did get the door and found Sheila with an update about her dolls. She thought it was a personal attack.
Dalia of course had something to say about the size of Tessa’s room. Meanwhile, George found that Dallas had moved his underwear to unpack her belongings, and she tried to give him underwear advice. He finally told her how he really felt about the changes she was making.
Tessa discovered that Dalia talked in her sleep like she does while awake and went to investigate with a bat when she heard a noise. George joined her, and they found Dallas eating in the laundry room. She was feeling guilty for putting him on the spot. The next morning, Tessa and Dalia found their parents planning for their families to hang out more. Tessa planned for a way out and turned to Dalia, who wondered if she was going to fake a pregnancy.
George didn’t want to take advantage of their neighbors, but Noah didn’t see things his way. Lisa told Tessa the dolls were still gone, but she was distracted. Dalia loudly accused Tessa of stealing the dolls, and they made sure Wolfe overheard. George was called in, and he said there were no way Tessa stole the dolls. However, she confessed, saying the suburbs may not be as good for her as he thought. She suggested they move back to New York where they belong. Tessa thought her plan worked—until George brought her to Sheila’s to confess. Sheila wondered if she did something to hurt her, but that was when Lisa confessed, holding one of the dolls. Tessa realized they were stuck in Suburgatory.
