Terrell Owens, the reality star and NFL free agent was rushed to a LA hospital in a possible suicide attempt. On October 6th, Owens’ assistant contacted 911 to report a possible pill overdose. This isn’t the first time Owens has been accused of attempting to kill himself.
Owens was “barely conscious”, according to his assistant when she called 911. The 911 call was placed at 11:02 pm. The dispatcher can be heard asking her, “Was it a suicide?” Owens’ assistant responded, “Yes, I believe so”.
Throughout the 911 call, the dispatcher repeatedly asked what Owen took. The assistant in an attempt to figure out what pills Owens swallowed can be heard stating, “I knew I should have counted these”.
In 2006, Owens was hospitalized after a reported suicide attempt with the painkiller Vicodin. Although Owen told reporters at the time that he had a bad reaction to the painkiller. At a later news conference, Owens stated, “The rumor of me taking 35 pills, I think is absurd. I don’t think I’d be here if I had taken 35 pills”.
Being a free agent, are Terrell Owens superstar years over and done? With his behavior, injuries and suicide attempts, is he worth the risk?
